I
want to share a story!
Dear Friends at Pat O'Brien's,
I still have the picture of my husband and I and our best
man and his girlfriend....When we left our wedding reception,
they made some cure remark like, "We'll see you at Pat O'Brien's
at 9 o'clock!" Well, would you believe, we went to dinner
at Antoine's then took a cab to Pat O'Brien's. We were standing
in line waiting to get in (yes, it was just as difficult 40 years
ago), when someone tapped my husband on the shoulder. It was
our best man, Paul. They spent the evening with us singing some
of the same tunes they are singing tonight.
We will be back there on the weekend of September 7-8 to
celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We plan to be in line
at about 9 o'clock. Paul won't be tapping us on the shoulder
because he died three years ago. But you can be sure that his
voice will be heard and we'll certianly feel his presence when
we are belting out those great and timeless tunes.
We look forward to having our picture taken out on the patio
by the fountain with two extra hurricane glasses nearby in his
memory.
