If the Fountain Could Talk

We Would All be in Trouble!

And everyone has their own story of their favorite Pat O'Brien's experience--that is, if you can remember it!  If so, feel free to post your comments here.... Keep in mind that these stories are reviewed before they are actually posted to the site, in an effort to keep it clean! (Check out the terms of use if you have any concerns about it's use)..

I want to share a story!

Here is what I would like to post for "If the fountain could talk"!

Dear Fountain:

My great uncle, Oliver Ragsdale, was reportedly a mandolin and piano player at Pat O’Briens for many years. He was a fine man, and had a fine family who I met some 20 years ago. How time flies. My wife and I are visiting New Orleans this weekend (with about a million close personal friends at Mardi Gras).

So we plan on visiting Pat O’s of course.

The only time I remember meeting Uncle Oliver about 1963, when I was about 15. I recall that the family ‘didn’t discuss’ that Uncle Oliver worked in a BAR as a musician. That was another world!!

I noticed on website there are many long-time employees – by some chance some of them might remember Oliver. If the story is accurate, and my memory as well.

Best Regards,

James Wallace
