2003-
My husband and I have
visited the "Fountain"in New Orleans at least 20
times in the 13 years we have been married and really
have enjoyed the ambience, the Hurricanes and the
people.
Most women, like me, really
appreciate the fact that Pat O'briens has one of the
cleanest and well attended bathrooms in the French
Quarter. I always tip the attendants, but this one
was for the record books.
My husband and I always
have a great time at Pat O'briens, but we try to drink
responsibly. This particular evening I put a $5
bill in my left pocket for the tip for the attendant and
a $20 bill in my right pocket for the next
hurricanes. I was a little tipsy but navigated up
the the spiral staircase to the bathroom well. I
even made it back down to the patio, with my mission
accomplished.
It wasn't until later that
I realized I had tipped the bathroom attendant the
$20.00 instead of the $5.00!
Well, we laughed and
laughed, I laughed, my husband laughed and I do believe
that the Fountain laughed with us!
I also imagine that a
deserving, but a surprised attendant upstairs was
laughing a little bit too!
