I
want to share a story!
Dear Fountain,
1970 found me in the army at Ft. Polk, La. Two other guys and
I went to New Orleans for the 4th of July weekend. The hippies
were well established in the French Quarter, they even had their
own weekly newspaper the NOLA Express. Pat O'briens was on our
must do list. We arrived Friday night, drove down Bourbon Street,(back
then it was open to traffic all the time) and finally found parking
on a side street. While walking around with all the other partiers
we saw a lot of people walking around with Hurricanes, we figured
that judging from the size it must be a watered down drink. The
next evening we stopped in for a hurricane in the Patio. "Boy"
we found out that the Hurricane was one stout drink!!! I still
have the glass..
Now as then Pat O'Briens is one of the high points of every
trip to New Orleans.
Thank You,
Paul K.
Wolfe
