Pat O'Brien's Expansion Continues
Construction has begun in San Antonio, Texas

NEW ORLEANS -- Pat O'Brien's, a New Orleans icon and home of the world famous Hurricane, has announced the start of construction for its 5th location and its fourth outside of New Orleans.

Pat O'Brien's International, Inc.'s first corporately owned entertainment venue with bar, restaurant and private party facility will be located at 121 Alamo Plaza right down from the historic Alamo.

Anticipated opening will be March 2003. Pat O'Brien's San Antonio will have 18th Century New Orleans mystique while still preserving the historic aspects of the facade of the building. To maintain Texan charm, Pat O'Brien's International is working with local preservationists to retain the integrity of the historic windows, some limestone walls and other features.

A signature look to Pat O'Brien's is the beer stein collection hanging from the ceiling. Pat O'Brien's San Antonio will have over 500 beer steins hanging from its ceiling as well.

The advantage of booking private parties in an elegant private facility is also one of the luxuries that one will have with the opening of Pat O'Brien's San Antonio. The private party facility will have wood floors, wrought iron chandeliers, massive fireplace mantels, beautiful paintings and a huge balcony overlooking the courtyard, similar to the Briars suites at Pat O'Brien's New Orleans, Orlando and Memphis.

Pat O'Brien's San Antonio will feature New Orleans style cuisine such as famous Shrimp Remoulade, Jambalaya, Crawfish Etouffee and , of course Shrimp Creole. The menu will also have a slight Mexican twist with a few local delicacies.

Pat O'Brien's continues to expand its operation with the selection for Pat O'Brien's San Antonio. The opening of Pat O'Brien's Memphis, Tennessee in September 2002 and Pat O'Brien's Orlando, Florida in 1999, and the opening of Pat O'Brien's Cancun, Mexico in 1991, has clearly established acceptance of its concept outside New Orleans.

George D. "Sonny" Oechsner III, owner, says, "We are very excited for the opportunity to have Pat O'Brien's San Antonio as part of our growing corporate family." Mr. Oechsner stated, "Selecting San Antonio involved extensive research and is overwhelmingly the right city for the next Pat O'Brien's. Visitors from all over the world have continued to experience Pat O'Brien's for more than 69 years. It is only natural to want to bring a piece of New Orleans to San Antonio,""Pat O'Brien's San Antonio is a perfect match for our concept, and we are incredibly excited for the opportunity to be involved in this community."
