Pat O'Brien's announces Memphis,
Tennessee for its next location.
NEW ORLEANS -- Pat O'Brien's a New Orleans icon famous for
its Entertainment Bar and Restaurant concept, and world famous
Hurricane drink, has announced that it will open a new facility
in Memphis, Tennessee.
Pat O'Brien's International, Inc. has executed a franchise
agreement with Hurricane Memphis, LLC for Pat O'Brien's - Memphis,
which will be located at the corner of Beale Street and Rufus
Thomas Drive in the heart of the famous Beale Street Historic
District. Anticipated opening will be August 2002, after completion
of the newly constructed entertainment facility, which will replicate
the historic 18th century building in New Orleans' French Quarter
and home to Pat O'Brien's since 1942.
Pat O'Brien's continues to expand its operation with the selection
for Pat O'Brien's - Memphis. The opening of Pat O'Brien's - Cancun,
Mexico in 1991 and Pat O'Brien's - Orlando, Florida in 1999,
has clearly established acceptanct of its concept outside New
Orleans.
Bill Warshauer, who heads Pat O'Brien's International, Inc.

O'Brien's - Memphis part of our growing corporate family."

research and is overwhelmingly the right city for the next Pat
O'Brien's. Visitors from all over the world have continued to
experience Pat O'Brien's for more than 68 years. It is only natural
to want to bring a piece of New Orleans to Memphis. Pat O'Brien's
- Memphis is a perfect match for our concept, and the excitement
continues to grow as the opening date nears."
In addition to Pat O'Brien's - Memphis, further franchising
and corporate expansion is progressing, says owner, George D.
Oechsner III, who stated that growth for his 68-year-old Entertainment,
Bar, and Restaurant Facility is part of the business plan. Mr.
Oechsner would not elaborate on current negotiations, but future
announcements may be forthcoming. Previous releases noted that
the company is researching markets including Atlanta, Branson,
Dallas, Houston, Destin, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Myrtle
Beach, Nashville, San Antionio, San Francisco, and San Diego.
